How GoutBye works

Tools that make a hard, long-term condition feel manageable.

One stop, not five

We read the research, the recipes, the best practices, and consulted medical professionals, then pinpointed what matters: food, hydration, medication, habits, and knowledge. All in one place, so you stop juggling apps.

Feels like a friend

Managing gout should not be boring or grim. GoutBye wraps the work around a warm, funny, encouraging mascot, Pipok, so building habits feels like keeping a friend company.

AI that respects you

Our AI helps with gout-management information and lifestyle suggestions — it is not a doctor and does not diagnose or treat. We strip personal and payment details from your requests before they reach it, so what it sees is designed not to identify you.

It is a marathon

Managing gout is a slow run that takes months and years, and small consistent habits can help over time. Pipok keeps you company with streaks and perks that unlock benefits and keep you showing up daily.

You can do this

Research, together

GoutBye is personal, but it is also a community. In a later phase, eligible users may be invited to separate, voluntary research opportunities. Participation would require separate informed consent and study-specific terms. This is not available yet.

Privacy by design

Built to minimise the link between your identity and your health data.

Health data is the most personal data there is. In an era of surveillance and privacy abuse, GoutBye is designed to keep your data yours.

On your device by default

Sensitive data, such as age, gender, allergies, flares, and preferences, is processed and encrypted on your phone. Only you can read, export, or delete it.

Your health data stays yours

GoutBye is designed to minimise links between your account and the health data used for suggestions, and we don't build a profile of you.

AI that stays private

AI requests are built around data minimisation and identity separation: direct identifiers are removed where possible before a request is processed.

The GoutBye story

Research Design Engineer
Where GoutBye is built

GoutBye is personal. In 2015 a gout attack stopped me cold, threw me into hours of pulsating pain I have never known before. The help I found was thin: one prescription, vague 'foods to avoid' advice and that was it. So I began digging into what may trigger gout, what may reduce flare risk, and how to manage it over time.

That became years of careful work: reading research papers, talking with specialists, watching podcasts, wrapping ideas and ultimately shaping a tool I would actually want to open every day. Pipok, our smiling-foot mascot, made the difference, keeping it fresh and affirmative. I am Martin Tomov, and I am not doing it alone, a small team of researchers, designers, and engineers at ITWS builds GoutBye with me.

The time it took is the point: gout is managed over years, so we build with the same patience. For me, careful habits and clinician-guided decisions helped me stay flare-free for years. That may not be the right path for everyone, especially people who need urate-lowering medication, but I believe better daily support can help many people live more confidently with gout. If that sounds like you, join the waitlist, I personally get back to every signup.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Questions, answered

What is GoutBye?

A mobile app that acts as your personal, interactive assistant for understanding and managing gout, with privacy and accessibility in mind.

How does it work?

GoutBye helps you learn which foods may affect gout, stay hydrated, build healthy routines, and stay consistent with the help of reports, advice, cooking ideas, quizzes, and achievements over time.

Is it on the App Store or Google Play yet?

App is in final testing stage on all three languages: Bulgarian, English and Japanese. App will be released in the second quarter of year 2026. Join the waitlist and you might be selected as an early adopter or beta tester, with instructions how to install.

Is GoutBye free?

Most of the app functionalities are free to use. Advanced functionalities (fridge recipes, reports, suggestions, freezes) can be purchased with coins. Paid plans provide a daily stream of coins. Coins can be purchased also separately.

How is my privacy protected?

Your health data — allergies, conditions, and tracking — lives on your device. When you request a recipe or report suggestion, it's sent stripped of your identity: our AI dispatcher receives only the health details needed for the suggestion, never your account, name, or ID. We don't build a profile of you or store your health data on our servers. Authentication is handled by Logto and subscription status by RevenueCat — neither receives your health data.

What is the GoutBye Research Program (GRP)?

In a later phase, eligible users may be invited to separate, voluntary research opportunities. Participation would require separate informed consent and study-specific terms, and some opportunities may include compensation where permitted and appropriate. This is not available yet.
